The 2nd Annual Monett Soccer ELCFF fundraiser was a great success again this year. In meeting our fundraising goal, we raised over $5,000 that will provide scholarships to students with Cystic Fibrosis. Additionally, the Monett Soccer fundraiser produced a scholarship this year for a Monett child diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. As our organization grows, we hope to extend our scholarships to younger students, in addition to college age students, to allow them an opportunity to pursue educational excellence at a younger age.
I want to specifically thank the Monett and Nixa boy’s soccer teams and the coaches for their support. They preemptively sold awareness t-shirts and spread the word to the community prior to the fundraiser. In addition to the t-shirt sales, the fundraiser had over 140 items and services donated this year for the silent auction. We raffled off two televisions, an IPAD, and a soccer ball signed by the Monett Boy’s soccer team. Aarons Furniture of Monett, MO graciously donated the IPAD and the big screen television. We also received several monetary donations and an endless contribution of volunteer work from many of our closest family and friends.
We congratulate the Monett boy’s soccer team, as they recently won their district title (7th in a row and the 8th district title in Monett Cubs Soccer history). The Monett team went on to the state tournament final four and earned a third place finish in the tournament. We are deeply grateful for all the friends, family, and businesses that donated time, services, and products to make the event a success. We noted the many supporters below. My sincerest thanks to everyone who donated and volunteered and we look forward to another successful fundraiser next fall.
